The Sky of Our Desire

The Sky of Our Desire

By Susan Putnins

What of the self remains when the way we relate to others changes? How do our desires shift when we contort to achieve them? Based on the film Der Himmel über Berlin / Wings of Desire, play as humans, angels, or ghosts with different ways of communicating and experiencing the world, all connected in a web of relationships. While characters wake or dream, players experience how transforming communication changes relationships.

This game involves speaking, movement, and touch to embody and symbolize expression and connection. Gameplay is meditative and focused on embodiment. Story milestones are already established; players’ agency is focused on the choice of form throughout the game (human, angel, or ghost) and how the essence of their relationships changes.
